Technical Support:

For specific questions pertaining to product information, please refer to the datasheets.  Generally, the most detailed product information is available on the datasheets exclusively.  In some circumstances we may be able to provide additional information.

Why are there so many clone numbers?  Each clone number represents a specific cell line (ascites) that was used to manufacture the antibody.  Since antibodies are produced by more than one host, each batch of ascites receives a unique clone number.  The clone number is not synonymous with the lot number, which indicates the date of manufacture.  There is little to no difference amongst the quality of the clones.  There may be slight differences in the "Applications" section of the datasheet as one clone may have been used for a process that another antibody has not.  Select the product based on your requirements then check the "Applications" section of the datasheets to see the specific procedures performed by that clone.

Product Applications: The applications (Use) listed for the products reflect only the information that is available to Anogen.  It is possible that the products have been used for additional applications, uses and procedures.  However, if an application is not included on a particular datasheet/insert, the data or information for that product's use in such applications will not be available for disposal from Anogen.

Before contacting technical support, please consult the following trouble-shooting suggestions:

Protocol: Ensure that the protocol for the experiment is followed systematically.  In some circumstances, changes in protocol may cause re-orientation of the antigen, thus preventing the antibody from binding correctly.  For Elisa kits, try replacing reference to "room temperature" with 37oC (99oF) in the Assay Procedure section ONLY.

Equipment: Ensure your equipment has been maintained accordingly.  Ensure that it has been certified with International Standards for Calibration.

Antigen:

*Use the entire (intact) protein antigen.  If the entire/whole antigen is not used (i.e. if only segments of the antigen or epitopes are used) there is a strong possibility that our antibodies will not recognize the antigen.  If the antigen is missing the specific epitope that our antibody detects, results will not be produced.

*Check the antigen purity.  If the antigen's purity is poor, try increasing the purity or concentration to obtain results.

*Run an Elisa test with the antigen.  If the results are negative, the antigen is the problem.  If the results are positive, the protocol is the problem.

We retain a small portion of each product for continual Quality Testing.  If you have attempted the above tips and are still experiencing difficulties, please contact us.  Please direct your inquiries to support@anogen.ca.  You should receive a reply within a few hours after of receipt.  If you require immediate assistance, please call us at 905-677-9221 x 226 or toll free at 1-877-755-8324.
